Job Title: Equine and Farm Veterinary Surgeon
Salary: Up to £65,000 (D.O.E.) Plus up to £5,000 welcome bonus (direct applicants) or relocation package available
Location: Shires Vets Farm, Staffordshire
Job Type: Permanent, full-time
Shires Vets Equine and Farm are recruiting for an additional sixth Veterinary surgeon. We are looking for someone with 4-5 years experience, who is wanting to progress to a lead vet/clinical director position and has a passion for supporting younger team members whilst advancing their own career.
The work load will be biased towards equine but will entail the odd farm call and farm OOH work.

• Salary initially £60-65K depending on experience for a lead vet (progression to a clinical director will have a salary uplift)

• Eventual 1:6 ooh rota (currently 1:5 due to GDP support)

About us.
We are currently a close knit, supportive, 5 vet ambulatory team based in the picturesque village of Eccleshall in Staffordshire. Our equine business is expanding rapidly and caters for pleasure and local level competition horses. On the farm side we have some dairy work but are mainly beef, sheep and smallholder.
We have all the expected equipment for an enthusiastic ambulatory practice, some of which you can see below.
• Portable digital battery x-ray
• Videoscope (respiratory and gastroscope)
• Oroscope
• Laser
• Motorised dental kit (one per vet)
• Shock wave
• Tendon, abdominal and rectal scanners.
• Bull and ram fertility testing kit
• In house lab for basic blood profiles and WEC.
• Post mortem and small ruminant surgery room.
